Lois Banta

SCN CEO/Owner

Lois Banta is CEO, President and Founder of Banta Consulting, Inc., a company that specializes in all aspects of dental practice management. Lois has over 38 years of dental experience and consults and speaks nationally and internationally. She is also the owner and CEO of The Speaking Consulting Network, and a member of ADMC, AADOM, NSA, ADAA and AADPA.

Rick Banta

As Chief Financial Officer and Business Manager, Rick Banta oversees the day-to- day financial operations of Banta Consulting, Inc. His expertise and knowledge of business systems and protocols allows Banta Consulting Group to focus on the client. When you call Banta Consulting Group, you will be assisted by Rick who will guide you toward the first step in practice excellence.

Jana Berghoff

SCN Conference On Site Coordinator

Jana has over 42 years’ experience in the dental community. Initially trained as a dental hygienist, she spent time in the clinical setting learning the ropes of patient care. She soon found herself moving into office/team management positions.  She gained experience in a diverse selection of dental environments including, General/Family Practices (both in the single practitioner and corporate environment), Dental X-ray Facilities, TMJ/Facial Pain Clinics, and high profile Cosmetic Practices. Seeing the need for experienced clinical staff in the software and technology arena, she refocused her career and joined Patterson Dental in various positions including training, sales and the marketing of technology products.  After recently separating from Patterson Dental, Jana is attending SCN for the first time as a participant rather than a vendor partner and is preparing to utilize her diverse dental experience to launch the next chapter in her career. Jana is Fellow in the American Association of Dental Office Managers and was named one of the Top 25 Women in Dentistry by Dental Products Report.

Debra Engelhardt-Nash

Director of Speaker Showcase and Spotlight on Speaking

Debra Engelhardt has been in dentistry since the early 80’s and a speaker/consultant for over 30 years. She has presented workshops nationally and internationally for numerous study groups and organizations and has written for a number of dental publications including 2 oral hygiene magazines. She has been honored twice as author of the year for her contributions to dental journals. Debra is co-founder and instructor for The Nash Institute for Dental Learning, located in Huntersville, NC. Debra is a founding member and served two terms as President of the National Academy of Dental Management Consultants and is the first recipient of the Charles Kidd Meritorious Service Award presented by the ADMC. She is once again their acting President. Debra is also a member of the American Academy of Dental Practice Administration, Speakers Consulting Network and a fellow in the International Academy of Dental Facial Esthetics.

Bete Johnson

Advisory Committee Chair

Bete Johnson, a 20 year sales, marketing and practice management veteran is currently, Vice President of Sales for CareCredit. She has been a core part of the CareCredit team for over 14 years and was recognized as one of the Top Twenty Five Women in Dentistry. Through her engagement with dental professionals including consultants, associations, practices, and dental suppliers Bete provides the opportunity to network and create new relationships that benefit the dental profession.

Judy Kay Mausolf

Judy Kay Mausolf is a speaker, author and dental culture specialist with expertise in helping others get happier and more successful!  She coaches dentists and their teams how to become better leaders, communicate effectively, work together better and deliver service with more focus and passion which result in cultivating a happier, healthier and higher performing culture.

She is Past President of National Speakers Association (Minnesota Chapter), Director of Sponsoring Partners for the Speaking Consulting Network and a member of the National Speakers Association and Academy of Dental Management Consultants and recognized as a leader in consulting by Dentistry Today.   She is author of two books; “Ta-Dah! And “Rise & Shine!”, and a contributing author for many dental magazines.  She also publishes a monthly newsletter entitled “Show Your Shine”.  

Judy Kay lives in MN with her awesome husband Steve who makes her special coffee every morning and Zoe…it’s all about me, 7 pound Yorkie!

Julie Perry

Executive Administrator

Julie is Executive Administrator for Banta Consulting as well as Speaking Consulting Network. Her focus is primarily on organizing and assisting in the execution of SCN’s Annual Meeting, communication within the organization as well as the daily needs of SCN members. Julie married the love of her life in July 2016 and has four beautiful, smart, amazing children who bring a smile to her face every day.

Adele Reische

Member Relations Liaison

Adele Reische of Practice Dynamics brings a unique blend of training, support and insight to her clients, coaching them through the shift from surviving to thriving.  With over 30 years of experience in dentistry, management and speaking, Adele rallies the troops to action, engaging everyone on the dental team as they work together to effect positive change and growth for the entire practice.

Adele is the Director of Member Relations with the Speaking Consulting Network (SCN), and is also a graduate of The Consulting U, a masters training and continuing education program specifically for dental practice management consultants. Adele is an active member of the Academy of Dental Management Consultants, The American Academy of Dental Office Mangers as well as a Certified Consultant in Employment Law and is the Director of Provider Affiliations with The Allana Smiles Foundation. Most dentists live in fear of litigation but few worry about going to prison. Nonetheless, I went to prison on August 20, 2008 and was released on May 14, 2010. Take a deep breath, hold on, and take a ride with me through one of a health care providers worse nightmare, but, take heart…there are ways to prevent what happened to me from happening to you.
